The study evaluates the quality and consistency of various marketed brands of Amoxicillin capsules/tablets using UV spectroscopy. The objective is to determine the actual drug content in comparison to the labelled claim and assess any significant variability among the brands, which may influence therapeutic efficacy.
Amoxicillin, a widely used β-lactam antibiotic, is available under numerous brand names. Despite regulatory standards, variations in drug content among brands can impact patient outcomes. UV spectrophotometry is a simple, cost-effective, and reliable method for quantifying drug content.
